After-dinner Entertainment:
“The World of the Impressionist”

Steve’s vast and ever growing repertoire ensures there is something for everyone in his after-dinner entertainment, from sporting celebrities such as David Beckham, José Mourinho and Frankie Dettori to the television personalities Jonathan Ross, Caroline Aherne, Johnny Vegas, Gillian McKeith, Dara O'Briain, Ozzy Osbourne, Graham Norton, Russell Brand, Chris Tarrant and Dame Edna Everage. Then there’s cult TV with Big Brother (Davina McCall), Dr Who (David Tennant) and The Weakest Link (Anne Robinson).

Let’s not forget the movies, including such stars as Robin Williams, Keanu Reeves, Michael Caine, Woody Allen, the Harry Potter professors McGonagall and Snape (Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman), and Ian McKellen, who guest appears as ‘Gandalf’ from The Lord of the Rings – plus a whole host of cartoon voices, from Homer Simpson and Speedy Gonzales to Mickey Mouse and Wallace and Gromit – as well as a bunch of politicians, among them Tony Blair, Ann Widdecombe, Roy Hattersley and Margaret Thatcher.

And on top of all that there’s the added bonus of some old favourites such as ‘Margot’ from The Good Life (Penelope Keith), Julian Clary, Leonard Rossiter and Alan Bennett.

In Steve’s brilliant and original comic world of the impressionist there’s:

  • ‘Del Boy’ (David Jason) living with ‘Hyacinth Bucket’ (Patricia Routledge) on Big Brother
  • David Attenborough exploring deepest Yorkshire and finding Wallace and Gromit
  • ‘The Wizard Gandalf’ doing a soap powder commercial
  • Delia Smith’s recipe for a Fozzie Bear ‘Muppet voice’ combining the ‘ingredients’ of Darth Vader and Homer Simpson
  • The cast of Fawlty Towers
  • Chris Tarrant, Geoff Boycott, and Davina McCall as animals in ‘Celebrity Zoo’
  • Russell Brand as a pair of curtains and Graham Norton as a Sat-nav
  • Kermit the Frog turning not into a handsome prince, but into Woody Allen
  • Updated nursery rhymes with Michael Caine, Julian Clary and Mickey Mouse

And many, many more.

Recent after dinner engagements have included the Mazda Roadshow, where Steve entertained motoring journalists across the country at dinner events at the New Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield; The Colloden, Belfast; Hunstrete House, Bath; Swinton Park, Masham; South Lodge, Horsham; St. Andrews, Fife and The Pale, Gwynedd.

Tailored and Personalized Scripts

Steve’s ability to personalize his script to include key members of the audience truly sets him apart from his peers. With meticulous attention to detail, Steve provides a rare and tailored comedy performance not easily forgotten.

A selection of comedy lines is sent to the client so that appropriate names may be attached, Alternatively suggestions around well-known individuals and topical company references are passed on to Steve so that he may create specific referrals in the script. Here is a brief selection of some of the comedy lines sent to the client for names to be filled in:

David Attenborough: _______ makes himself known to females through the loudness of his ties.

Ann Widdecombe: Could I at this particular moment mention _______ because he asked me to.

Robin Williams: Some people say _______ is the answer. But if _______ is the answer then God help the question.

Ann Robinson: I’m afraid I don’t know everything! They don’t call me _______.

Audience variety

Steve has a vast amount of experience in corporate entertainment. He has performed to various sizes of audiences ranging from those as intimate as twelve to Gala Dinners of well over a thousand. Steve is able to change style and presentation to match any event. His after-dinner speech is especially suitable for a mixed audience, preferably with an age range from around thirty onwards. The great advantage of Steve’s act is that it invariably offers something different for people of all tastes.

Joining the Client at Dinner

Steve is a charming and delightful table guest who, unlike some entertainers, is always more than willing to join the clients at the dinner, thus adding to the evening’s enjoyment. Steve’s range of interests across a wide variety of areas invariably ensures witty and topical conversation.
